About
Welcome!
I am a professor of economics at Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark. I was born and raised up in Chengdu, China; my Chinese name is Deng Duo (or 邓舵).
I studied economics at Baylor University (in Texas), and holds a Ph.D. degree in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University (Boston, Massachusetts). My research interest lies in the intersections between macroeconomics, international economics and finance, and it tends to be about China. Prior to my current post, I had taught economics at Brandeis University, and a course on Chinese Economy at Tufts University.
Besides research and teaching, I am an active investor in global macro area. My interest in global macro investing derived from my prior working experiences at two leading quantitative investment firms in Boston. In 2007, I also co-founded Brandeis Chinese Investment Group (BCIG), a small yet active investor community, including many investment professionals and Brandeis alumni.
